Chess 2

Chess 2 is a variation upon chess that Gives each piece attack and defense points, as well as adding a deck of cards on each players side of the field that they can draw from whenever they take a piece. These cards vary in power and rarity, and can do anything from boosting attack, to summoning tokens, to drawing more cards.

The additional rules Rules are as follows
- each piece has one or multiple dice they can roll for attack or defense this occurs when a piece would take another. instead of a piece immediately being destroyed, the pieces engage in a mock battle, where one piece's attack roll contests the defending piece's defense roll. if the defending roll is higher, or if the defending roll results in the maximum possible number, then no move is made and the turn moves to the end phase, if the rolls are equal, then the rolls must be made again, and in any other scenario, the attacking piece takes the defending piece.
- players each  start the game with 2 cards, and when a player destroys an opponent's piece, they draw a card from their deck. these cards affect the game in different ways, such as destroying pieces, drawing cards, summoning tokens and drawing cards. this speeds up the game and increases strategy, making the game more engaging and more fun. the 2 card start especially is intended to kickstart the game by giving each player more options when deciding their opening moves. There is also a 3 card hand limit, which is intended to increase the speed of the game by encouraging players to play their cards, lest they be made to discard them.
- Check and Checkmate no longer exist. rather, the condition for the end of the game is killing the king, rather than putting the king in an inescapable position

With further testing, we aim to refine this concept into a more unique, playable and balanced game.
