Client Visit

On the 12th of march, our game client visited our class to inspect the work we've been doing, and give criticisms and suggestions for what we were doing. One of the main criticisms was that the player might get lost. It was suggested that we add lights to guide the player along, a solution which has now been implemented.

The client also suggested some other ideas. These included:

- Batteries. The flashlight never runs out of battery in the first level, so the client suggested adding a battery resource that the player has to keep topped up. We'll be implementing this in level 2, where the player's flashlight has broken, and they need batteries to keep it running, keeping the monster away.

- Journal. Instead of leaving lore hints scattered around, the player could have an oblivion-style journal system, in which information your character learns is stored. He also suggested that these could be used as hints for puzzles.

- The code for a puzzle being fully presented in one room is too easy, and it could be better to present a ripped piece of paper with one half of the code, with the other half hidden somewhere else.

- Details. the mine is rather barren, and could use some more details, such as support beams, minecarts, tracks and pickaxes. these details have since been added to the game, in the form of boarded up areas, fallen rocks, minecarts and tracks, and support beams
